Rowdymen On a windblown dusty day, in the heart of the Prairies, one of the nations premier Roots Rockabilly bands was born. The Rowdymen feature Jason Allen on vocals and rhythm guitar, Robert Zaporzan on bass and vocals, Dwayne Dueck on lead guitar and vocals and Ken McMahon on drums. Since their formation in 1997, the band has garnered much praise and respect along their travels. The Rowdymen's diverse repertoire ranges from High-Octane Edgy Rockabilly to Hard Drivn' Prairie Twang and all points in between. With a ton of material under their collective belts ,The Rowdymen can adapt to practically any situation. Show after show, they drive their music home with an energetic edge that leaves their audiences wanting more.
Over The Rowdymen's career they have opened for for an eclectic mix of luminaries. Neko Case, Fred Eaglesmith , Sleepy LaBeef, and blues legend T-Model Ford are just a few names that they have shared a bill with.
This past spring the band received more accolades as it blew the doors off Viva Las Vegas 5 [North America's largest rockabilly festival]in Las Vegas, Nevada, where they were the lone Canadian band. Another highlight of the past year saw The Rowdymen headline the Ness Creek Music Festival, where past headliners have included the likes of Reverend Horton Heat and Hank Williams III . The summer of 2002 also brought the Rowdymen together with rockabilly legend Sleepy La Beef. Together they trekked across the nation amazing audiences night after night.
