Who is Chris without the Hat 2006? It seems necessary to explain that Chris without the Hat has no hatred of hats. He likes hats. The name gives reference to an extremely significant hat that he is without. Chris is on his fourth year of entertaining children and adults in Winnipeg. He does singing telegrams for Gags Unlimited, Scheme-A-Dream, Jesters, Rent-A-Nerd, and newly founded Laughter without Borders, playing roles from Eggbert Nerdbert to Captain Jack Sparrow to Richard Simmons and many, many more. Weekly editorial cartoons illustrated by him can be seen in Uptown Magazine where he has the honor of cartooning for editorial columnists such as, David Suzuki and Nick Ternette. Not surprisingly, Chris without the Hat has been seen drawing similar caricatures at corporate functions. He draws kid's caricatures too. Chris without the Hat is quite often seen entertaining and educating children and adults at the Western Canadian Aviation Museum as well. Local diner theatre group “Murder on the Menu” and “Mystery Theatre Inc.” also lays claim to him; as an actor he is known as Chris Parsons. As a clown, he is recognized as “Juggles without the Hat”. Most of Winnipeg's children know him as “Mr. Hat” of Mad Science, since he teaches and performs for Mad Science on a full time basis. He is also one half of the local duo, “Captain Silver Beard and Scrawny”. Residents of Winnipeg may recognize him as the Little Caesar's juggler, since he practices his juggling powers in front of their store donning signs that suggest pizza. He has been spotted on Portage Avenue, Henderson Highway and most recently on Ness Avenue. Chris has been also been seen juggling and spreading cheer for the “CBC Winnipeg Comedy Festival” for the past three years. Finally, he performs “The Chris without the Hat Show” locally and provincially, which is a wacky interactive children's show incorporating juggling, mind reading, music, humor and a wee bit of science. “The Chris without the Hat Show” was seen publicly and privately throughout 2006 at venues such as the “Asham Stompers Festival”, “The Manitoba Stampede” and “Kid's Fringe” to name a few. Chris also offered his skills and show on a volunteer basis for this year's “Feast for a King” on Christmas day. In corporation with “Laughter without Borders”, Chris is also in the process of writing and hosting a kids program entitled “The Gigantic Magic Hat Show” for a media company called “I-semm”. The pilot has been completed and nine more episodes are currently underway.
-The Chris without the Hat Show- You may have seen Chris w/o the Hat juggling from time to time on Henderson Highway or Ness Avenue for a local pizza joint or strolling down Portage Avenue, but this is just where he practices. He has been juggling for four years professionally and for his whole life without an audience. “The Chris without the Hat Show” gives Chris the opportunity to show off what he has been practicing on the first, second and eighth busiest roadways in Winnipeg. With plenty of audience participation and tricks that are not only unique but also sensational, “The Chris without the Hat Show” cannot be beat. Just wait till you see his mind boggling “Lock Trick” and laugh at his ever popular “Cookie Trick”! Most of his 45 minute act is choreographed beautifully to music including his well recognized mop routines. The mops that he juggles with are his own invention which can achieve great height and can do some amazing things. Without giving away too much of the show, you can expect to see a whole bunch of different things from balls to bicycle pumps to Wrinkles the Amazing Juggling Dog without the Hat! And a lot of laughs! Chris can also be talked into juggling fire; he can be talked out of it too! Chris w/o the Hat's “Cell Phone Trick” is near ready and should be incorporated into his up-and-coming, newly remastered, summer show in 2007.
