Blaze Aboriginal Performer
Blaze, whose real name is Joseph Sinclair, lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Blaze had difficult teenage years after the loss of his hard working father, but turned to writing music after an inspiration from a very close friend. Unfortunately, Blaze also lost his close friend but this only gave Blaze energy to work on his music and gave him the desire to succeed as an artist within the inner city of Winnipeg. Blaze's skills were then appreciated by a Club owner Marvin Smoker (Club Gathering Eagles) who allowed him to start doing freestyle concerts and subsequently Blaze made a demo with his partner, D-Man, called the “The Undiscovered Country”. Blaze's first recording in 2003, “The Book of Reality” launched his place in the Winnipeg Hip Hop scene and he became known as the 'voice of the inner city'. The CD was well received and Blaze started Rapping across Manitoba as the Aboriginal Rapper. “Blaze - The Joe Stylez Project” the second released in 2004 took rap music in the Aboriginal community to a higher level. Singing and relating to his community, Blaze 'keeps it real' for his audience and recognizes that he is a role model for the Aboriginal youth in the city and as such tries to keep his music clean. Blaze has recorded a number of mixed taped. In 2006 Blaze was the Brewno Award winner for Hip Hop/Rap and was nominated for the Aboriginal People Choice Award: Hip Hop/Rap. These successes have given Blaze the strength and dedication to his music. His break for a formally distributed recording came when TG Records appreciated his dedication and gave him the opportunity by working with him, which has led to his most recent CD “My People” produced by TG Records. This CD features Leisha Holler and Teddy Gramz. Blaze is already looking at releasing another CD in the near future.
Blaze - following the trail of fire by Mark Watson Joseph Sinclair, aka Blaze, aka Joe Stylz has been rigorously pursuing his rapping career and making things happen! He's recently signed with TG Records and will be releasing his debut CD under that record label early in 2007. The CD is as yet untitled but we can tell you that it will consist of 14 tracks. Distribution is in the works and a video will be released as well. CKUW 95.9 FM, the University of Winnipeg radio station, has also shown Blaze some recognition. He won the station's 2006 Brewno Award for best hip hop artist and has additionally been nominated for Best Rap/Hip Hop CD in the Aboriginal People's Choice Awards.
